Where Art Meets the Forest Floor
"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."
Frank Lloyd Wright
The forest has always been my muse, a place where time slows, where peace becomes a reality, however brief, and in that moment, it breathes inspiration into my life. I have never felt more like myself than when I am in the forest. Every time I step beneath its canopy, I feel its quiet magic threading through me, stirring my soul, guiding my hand.
Growing up in New England, I was surrounded by landscapes steeped in history, where towering oaks and ancient groves whispered stories older than memory. But Autumn, Autumn has always been my constant, my rhythm, my greatest source of creative fire. It is the rust, scarlet, and copper woven through fallen leaves, the scent of earth curling into the crisp air, the textured warmth of golden light filtering through the trees. I am forever drawn to the way that sunlight weaves through the leaves, turning the forest into my cathedral, a sacred, eternal sanctuary.
It was under the boughs of a maple during an Autumn hike that my brand, Autumn Hallows, found its name, gifted to me by the season that has always guided my hand. My journey as an artist is deeply entwined with this reverence. Whether through drawing, illustration, or the layered textures of mixed media, my work seeks to capture the spirit of the natural world, the way it pulses with mystery, history, and quiet magic.
The Tree Tarot was born from this dialogue, merging folklore, intuition, and the wisdom of trees into imagery that speaks beyond words.
My work has been exhibited in galleries and featured in publications, but art, to me, is more than its audience, it’s a conversation with the unseen, a bridge between worlds, and a reflection of the deep, quiet magic woven through the earth. When I am not creating, I find solace in the forest, listening for the lessons carried in the wind and honoring the trees that have always guided me.
I believe in protecting the forests that have given us so much, the places that inspire, heal, and remind us of the sacred bond between nature and humanity. As a county coordinator for the Old Growth Forest Network, I work to preserve ancient woodlands for future generations. I also support the Nature Conservancy and the Arbor Day Foundation, along with local conservation groups across western Massachusetts. By purchasing this deck, you are already contributing to this mission.
I encourage you to seek out your local organizations that protect forests and natural spaces. Support, volunteer, or simply spread awareness. Each small effort we make helps preserve these sanctuaries for generations to come.
